Comments: It seems everyone has a wild game cookbook nowadays. And they all shuffle between the same 30 recipes or so. Boring. I tried Venison Wisdom because I was curious to read a cookbook from a Schmidt (I assume Tracy is related to Dan Schmidt, D&DH editor?). I was surprised! The twist is that all the ingredients you need for the recipes are things you probably already have on hand at hunting camp (onions, Cream of XYZ soup, potatoes, etc.). But the things Schmidt does with them I would never have thought of before. This really is more than a run-of-the-mill cookbook. In fact, you can get rid of all your other run-of-the-mill cookbooks, because this is the only one you'll need. It's the only one you'll want, too, because the recipes are so practical.

Comments: I ordered this cookbook about 2 weeks ago and have already made three of the recipes. The first one ("Classic Sesame") I made and didn't tell my wife or kids it was venison. They loved it! And they thought it was beef. My wife now wants to use venison more which was the whole reason why I ordered the book in the first place. Great bargain for that point alone.
