Format: Download

SKU# W0946

No more guessing - see exactly where your shot hit!

Seasoned deer hunters know it is imperative to know where their arrow or bullet struck before taking up the trail of any whitetail. For the first time ever, D&DH's Shot Simulator allows you to take as many "do overs" as needed to get that information! In this state-of-the-art animated program, you can position the deer exactly as it was when you were hunting, "take the shot," and then learn exactly which organs were hit. Position yourself from tree-stand height or ground-blind level and position the deer at any angle. After the shot, click on the navigation bars to peel away the hide, skin and bones to see which organs were hit. Then, use our instant trailing guide to help you decide what your next move should be. Wait 30 minutes … or wait 10 hours? We will provide you the best course of action!

Whether you've yet to harvest a whitetail or have taken more than 100 in your lifetime, this animated program is a must-have for any deer hunting camp!

This downloadable version is available to you upon checkout.

Editorial Reviews:
"I purchased an amazing piece of software today. It is called the Shot Simulator and it is sold by Deer & Deer Hunting...I don't believe I have ever seen their show and I don't remember buying anything from them before. So, this is not a advertisement for them. I am very impressed by this piece of software."
..."Everything is rendered nicely. The beauty of the program is not in the graphics. It is in the ability to shoot the deer and see what vitals were hit... This program is a simple, inexpensive tool that I think every new hunter should use. I think it would benefit even an experienced hunter."

VERY GOOD Review by David

I've been a hunter all my life. Deer hunting over the past 30 years, and using a crossbow since a spinal cord injury for a few years now. This software is really interesting to use, giving you much greater insight into what small variations of arrow angle can make as far as what vital parts of the deer are hit or missed. I also learned some things about the blood trail that I didn't previously know. Interestingly, the software answered a question about lack of blood trail on the last two deer I have shot which I was really frustrated about... I believe that if this program is developed further, with more features, it will really become a "best seller"... It is a fine program the way it is though. Dave <>< >>>------>

Useful but could use updating Review by Jack

I bought the downloadable program in the desktop version. Not sure if it's the same as the one you buy on the CD. My version looks different than the one they show on their TV program.

I wish they would add a distance key to allow you to shoot from different distances. I also wish they had a height key so you know how high you are in the tree you are shooting from.

The program gives you "shot info" that describes your shot and what to do. It would be nice if they could link this info to a "mouse over" on the deer so you could tell what you get by just mousing over the deer. That would prepare you better for shooting. Now you are seeing "after the fact".

My biggest complaint is that, after you shoot, you get a wide, tri-angular colored band from the deer back to the bow. I find this very annoying and would prefer a straight line rather than a wide band.

Also, the + & - keys are supposed to move in and out but mine actually rotate the deer rather than move in and out like they are supposed to do.

Having made these suggestions, I am glad I bought the program as it is useful and helpful. It's just that it could be so much more.

Good teaching tool Review by Fred

Good teaching and learning tool.
To make it a great app all they have to a do is add a pop up screen with shot angle and distance.

Great app Review by McGuire

My only wish is that you could more easily change where you are shooting from...i.e., left or right side. Other than that, this is a great tool, creates a lot of discussion after the hunt, helps the hunter understand what went right or wrong. Would absolutely recommend!

An Eye Opener Review by Jeff

Just when you thought you knew everything about proper shot placement...the Shot Simulator really lets you see what you have only guessed about before. This is an invaluable tool for helping you become a better (and more ethical) hunter.

Great Tool! Review by Bill H

I can't figure out why something like this clear and simple was not out there already. Pick anywhere, any angle and shoot. It shows and tells you the rest....highly recommended!
